What we use
A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. We use a single strictly-necessary cookie, plus your browser's local storage for a couple of conveniences. We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
castly_sess | Cookie (HttpOnly) | Keeps you signed in after login. Strictly necessary; without it the app cannot authenticate you. | Up to 30 days |
castly_history | localStorage | An offline copy of your recent project history, shown instantly and as a fallback. | Until cleared |
castly_key | localStorage | Optional legacy/manual API key for advanced use (not set for normal sign-in). | Until cleared |
castly_consent_v1 | localStorage | Remembers your cookie choice so we do not ask again. | Until cleared |
_ga, _ga_* | Cookie (analytics, optional) | Google Analytics 4 — anonymous usage statistics (which pages help people). Set only after you choose "Allow analytics" in the consent banner. | Up to 13 months |
Analytics only with your consent
We do not use advertising cookies, social-media pixels, or cross-site trackers. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages help people — and it loads only after you choose "Allow analytics" in the consent banner. Until then (or if you pick "Necessary only") no analytics code runs and no analytics cookies are set. IP addresses are anonymized, and Google's advertising signals (ad storage, ad user data, ad personalization) stay permanently off.
You can change your mind at any time: the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page reopens the banner. Withdrawing consent stops analytics immediately and deletes the analytics cookies on this site.
Managing cookies
The session cookie is required to sign in; blocking it will prevent the app from working. You can clear cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings, and you can end your session with the Log out button in your account settings.
